Grave of the Fireflies - Drama

This is a live-action adaptation of the Ghibli Studios anime release by Izao Takahata. It was originally inspired by Akiyuki Nosaka's semi-autobiographical novel. It is about the tragedy of war in general, and a personal tragedy of one family because of the war. Two children lose their parents and go to live with their aunt. Their aunt initially takes good care of them, but when her husband dies, she changes inside. She doesn't feed them as well as her own family, and soon they attempt to go fend for themselves.

This is a strong anti-war story and can be hard to watch, but it is important to remember the effects of war on everyone.
